Every year in February the IEEE Vancouver Section organizes a training session to overview the basic processes and tools available to section executives, volunteers, or to those who wish to become volunteers. This year's event is on Saturday Feb/3.

 

This is a very good opportunity to learn more about the opportunities and means to help organize better events and initiatives. You will also be able to meet volunteers and section leaders to discuss any relevant topics 

 

You are encouraged to bring a laptop.

 

The agenda is as follows:

 

0830 : arrival and getting organized. Coffee and muffins served

0900: Vancouver Section overview

0930: Website and multimedia

1000: break

1015: how to run a successful(joint) chapter

1045: budget

1115: societies and chapters

1145: publicizing your event

1200: lunch

1230: publicizing your event (cont)

1300: member recruitment

1315: hands on activities

1355: wrap up

 

Although volunteers are encouraged to stay for the entire duration, people may drop in and out at any time if they so wish.

 

This will be held at the BCIT Campus on Willingdon avenue. Exact room number will be provided shortly.

 

We ask that you register for this event. It is free. Registration is simply to help us determine how many refreshments to purchase.
