Calling for volunteers!

The IEEE International Instrumentation & Measurement Technology Conference is coming to Houston this May and is looking for volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering email Christopher Sanderson at christopher.b.sanderson@ieee.org.

The conference is led by an international team with involvement from some of our members at the University of Houston and Rice University. The conference has a very strong four-day program, including:

  • A full day of 16 up-to-date technical tutorials on Monday May 14, addressing the latest in Instrumentation & Measurement, from IoT applications to measurements in the oilfieldPDH hours will be awarded for those of you with professional continuing education requirements.
  • technical program filled with expert panels addressing topics such as "Biomedical Instrumentation Startups" and "New Horizons in I&M".
  • More than 400 peer reviewed technical papers reporting the latest advances in I&M research and technology.
  • A new Industry Day on Tuesday with a focus on local industry interests including Biomedical, Petroleum, Chemical Process and Aerospace.  Industry Day will have a strong focus on practical applications and an “Ask the Expert” session.
  • Exhibits with the latest offerings from instrumentation and measurement related suppliers.
  • And this year, the National Science Foundation BRAIN (Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies) Initiative will hold its annual conference in conjunction with I2MTC – participants in I2MTC can participate in the BRAIN open meeting to understand the latest in the science of measuring, mapping, and understanding the human brain.

You are invited to attend the conference for the tutorials, technical program, and social activities. If you’re interested in active participation, it’s not too late to submit an Industry Paper or Late Results Poster presentation. Visit the conference website for latest info on deadlines.

If your firm has products that may be of interest to attendees or other firms in the Houston area, exhibit space and promotional opportunities are available!  We would welcome your support.

We would love to hear from you if you are interested in attending or participating in the Conference. I would also appreciate it if you could forward this email to any colleagues in your department/company who might also be interested – the Conference is open to all, whether Society or IEEE members or not.

Questions concerning the conference may be directed to David Tran, PE, of CDI Engineering in Houston.

We look forward to seeing you at I2MTC 2018 on May 14-17!
