Jim is President Emertius of the IEEE Computer Society, Past VP of the IEEE Society on the Social Implications of Technology and a past IEEE Director.  He has been tracking the evolution of AI for some time, and also the related IEEE Standards activities on Ethically Aligned Design: A Vision for Prioritizing Human Well-being with Autonomous and Intelligent Systems (A/IS) (See http//is.gd/AIethics )
