Mr. Tome Jobe, COO & VP of Engineering-SensiQ Technologies
Anstract:
The field of biosensors applies now covers a wide range of devices from nano-scale embedded biological monitors to benchtop drug-discovery screening instruments. This presentation will briefly cover the history of biosensors and then focus on applications in the medical and biomedical segments. Recent advances in field-portable and human-embedded applications will also be highlighted.
Biography:
Mr. Jobe holds BS and MS Engineering degrees from Oklahoma State University. He spent 10 years in the energy business as an instrument developer and 15 years as a developer and manager of medical diagnostic instruments with Organon Teknika & BioMerieux, where he led the development of microbiology, coagulation, and nucleic acid diagnostics instrumentation. From 2005 till mid-2017 he was the Chief Operating Officer of SensiQ Technologies of Oklahoma City where he directed the R&D and Manufacturing operations for the company’s life sciences instrumentation and commercialization efforts. After SensiQ Technologies was acquired by Pall Life Sciences, Mr. Jobe co-founded startups BioInSpire of Oklahoma City and Essai Sciences of Stillwater, where he leads commercial efforts of using biosensors in the field of biomolecular interaction analysis for pharmaceutical companies. Mr. Jobe is a past Chair of the Engineering in Medicine and Technology Management Chapter or Oklahoma City and a member of IEEE for over 20 years, serving as a Distinguished Lecturer for IEEE EMBS for 2016-2018.
