Agile for Change

We live and work in an environment where change is the norm. Some call this environment “ a VUCA world”, where VUCA represents Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity. The Agile mindset, values, principles and practices give us one map for increasing our chances of success in the face of VUCA.

In this talk we will discuss:

- What are the forces of change for our organization?

- What is Agile, and how does it help us deal with those changes?

- What are the key shifts in becoming Agile?

- How do we get started?

A Team that Digs In: Strengthening Leadership and Engagement Through Purpose

People have a innate need to know they make a positive difference in the world, including in their work. When an individual's sense of purpose is aligned with his or her work, the results can be powerful, for the individual*and*for the company and the customers it serves. This is when you're most likely to see team members who truly dig into the work.

Strong leaders are able to align their own sense of purpose with their work, and are also able to help their team members align purpose and work. Leaders who are not able to help their team members make this connection between purpose and work risk employee disengagement--team
members who don't feel connected to the work or the organization, who don't want to be at work, who are just counting down the minutes until they get to go home. Workplace research shows that poor management is
the leading cause of disengagement.

The good news is that improving leadership skills can improve employee engagement. This session will explore the concept of purpose and will give participants an opportunity to identify their own purpose and how
it can be used to strengthen their leadership skills. It will also provide an opportunity for participants to develop specific strategies they'll use to improve the engagement and culture in their own teams.

Some topics we'll discuss include these:

- How purpose is related to an organization's mission
- The benefits of aligning purpose and mission
- How to clearly identify and articulate your own purpose
