Basics of large capacity Medium Voltage motor and adjustable speed drive factory acceptance test – How to be a witness?
On today's Adjustable Speed Drives (ASD) or Variable Frequency Drive on large Multi Megawatt MV motors for compressors, pumps, extruders applications, it can be difficult to ensure specification and performance are being meet at during the witness Factory Acceptance test (FAT). Navigating the types of test procedures and how they comply with appropriate standards is often not fully understood, which causes surprises in shipment delays, price adders and ultimately the equipment itself not being in compliance with the stated project objectives.
This seminar attempts to address the factory acceptance testing (FAT) phase of a medium voltage motor and ASD or VFD system whether procured separately or as a package. Issues such as type of test selection, specifications, standards, preparation, acceptance criteria, and finally string testing will be covered.
