Energy Usage and Greenhouse Gas Emissions on Campus
The University of Saskatchewan has stated a goal to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions 20% below 2006/2007 levels by 2020. Energy consumption on campus accounts for 90% of the university’s emissions. This presentation will outline strategies for energy conservation and efficiency improvements across campus, as well as adding cleaner solutions of energy supply. The presentation will also discuss the performance of the University’s solar installations at the John Mitchell Building and the Horticulture Facility.

Kevin Hudson
Biography:
Kevin Hudson graduated from electrical engineering at the University of Saskatchewan in 1991 and has worked in the energy industry for over 26 years throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta. Kevin is the Energy and Emissions Officer at the University of Saskatchewan. He is involved in developing initiatives and implementing strategies to conserve energy and reduce the University’s greenhouse gas emissions. Previously, he also served as the Metering & Sustainable Electricity Manager in Saskatoon Light and Power.
