The City of Houston and other major cities have had to modernized their transportation systems to accommodate the considerable increase in electrification transportation. This has led to major advancements in new and improved electric machine designs, optimization techniques, advanced control strategies, and power electronics.

The Houston Section IEEE Life Members Group is honored to facilitate a fantastic seminar entitled "Electric transportation and the Grid – What will it take to deliver the promise?". In this seminar, we will review the current status of the electrification of transportation, the issues and opportunities charging these vehicle present to the grid, the status of the associated charging systems technology development, and end with a look at several key technologies to watch in this developing space.

Our IEEE Distinguished Guest Speaker is Joe Redfield, P.E., of Redfield Consulting Services

This seminar is open to all registered guest and Houston Life Members.
