IEEE Denver Section PES.IAS Chapter March 2019 Meeting
Transformer Purchasing
Important Things We Need To Know
This presentation covers the goals when creating transformer specifications and the transformer purchasing process. Mainly, how to minimize the total owning cost that meets the requirements of long lasting relatively trouble free transformers, while increasing the knowledge base of the utility. Each step of the purchasing process from design review through insulation moisture verification and testing are reviewed, and how the relationship with the manufacturer develops during the process.
