ABSTRACT

This presentation will concentrate on:

(I) Why there is a need to shift from existing 60950-1 to new 62368-1 standard;

(II) How to apply the new standard to a Consumer Electronic Product;

(III) New terminology, new requirements, basic fundamentals/concepts, core changes;

(IV) Overview and gap analysis of 60950-1 and 62368-1 standards

(V) Transition dates and when the standard will be in full effect (December 20, 2020)

 

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Mr. Ruhil Surti, is a Project Engineer at Intertek. He has over 10 years of experience in project management, product safety, evaluation and certification with expertise in US, Canadian and International regulatory and compliance safety standards especially for IEC/UL/CSA 60950-1 and 62368-1 standards. His primary focus is to help clients with a smooth transition of product certification from existing standard 60950-1 to HSBE standard 62368-1. Through his prior experience working with other certification agencies, he is a subject matter expert in certifying Consumer Electronic products such as certified large and small servers/computers, kiosks, ATMs, switching and linear power supplies, telephones and telecommunication devices (PBX), and outdoor broadband communication devices.
