  1. 2019 Annual Meeting (01/31/2019) Review

  • 30 total in attendance (17 IEEE members)

  • Lessons Learned: Start being more clear on the announcements with start time and food time, ask the speaker to stick to their time window, start preparations earlier than November, ask for awards to be shipped earlier

  1. E-Week Review

  • Engineer of the Year – Justin Kleinfeld, P.E.

  • Young Engineer of the Year – Ashley Commander, E.I.T.

  • Luncheon and Banquet turnout – 02/19/2019 – both were well attended, DoubleTree was a great venue for it

  • New award opportunity being offered: Engineering Leadership Award

  1. IEEE SoutheastCon 2019

  • Huntsville, AL on April 11-15, 2019

  • Ashley and Alexandra attending for Section

  • Donnie also attending for personal business

  • Section will only be reimbursed for Ashley

  1. CEC/IEEE Joint Meeting on 03/11/2019 at Chatt State – turnout (Donnie/Margie)?

  • Around 27 attendees (6 IEEE members)

o   Alexandra to update event report (Completed)

o   Lulu to send sign-in sheet (Completed)

  1. Meeting and Financial Report Status – (Alexandra, Sarah) Completed.

  • Margie to follow-up with David Nordy about the financial reports (was she supposed to sign anything?)

III. New Discussion Items – NEED BETTER LEAD TIMES WITH MEETINGS

  1. 2019 Tours

  2. TVA Wiring Shop with Jerrell Laster

  • Two tours, Not limited to TVA Employees (03/26 and 04/02)

o   8 people on each tour total

  • Need at least one ExCom member at each tour

o   Ashley volunteered for 03/26, Justin for 04/02

o   Alexandra to update vTools to include 1 PDH hour (Completed)

  1. Volkswagen Tour?

  • Sarah to Check (Completed, not available)

  • Erlanger CHP going into service, David to check on a tour

  1. Lunch and Learns 2019

  • Increase Transmission Capacity with Smart Wires (PES), 03/14/2019 (Ashley), Frank Lambert = guest speaker

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt - Lunch and Learn planning: Presenter Rebecca Wilson, planned for June or July, at the Chatt Public Library, pizza and drinks served, invite CEC (Donnie) – Reserved for June 12th

  1. Technical/Non-Technical Meetings 2019

  • Partnering with Nathan Hooker’s group for “PQ Roadshow”. Coordination with other Region 3 chapters via Daniel Diaz (Ashley)

o   Chris to check on sign-in sheets and feedback, Alexandra to report

  • NOMCON 2019 Kick-Off (03/19/2019), 5:30-6:30, Edney (Donnie)

o   Supposed to help Maker’s in the Area, Donnie to send information (Completed)

  • MEPI (Mitsubishi Electric) 4-hour tutorial on FACTS devices in July or August (Chris to work on)

  • All – Be on the lookout for other area ties, similar to Chattanooga Engineers Club

  • All – Senior Development Drives could still be covered by PACE funds in 2019
