Abstract:  The Internet of Things (IoT) is defined as a connection of physical and electronic devices that are configured in such a manner that allow them to collect and share information. IoT is an idea - a conceptual potential that promises a new power to mankind – a power to control and master the totality of devices and objects that exist in their world. This presentation will consider the current status of IoT development. It will examine the related hardware and software technologies that are required to support a true IoT environment and also potential security issues related to living in an interconnected society. Finally, the group will discuss potential applications that could be developed in an IoT framework.
