IEEE WIE Ottawa Executives Meeting

Discussions and Tasks

 

 

Anastassia

- Anastassia will be travelling and away for a while, she is asking to have someone to take care of opening the door for our events.

- We need a webmaster. We need to update the list of executive team members, put our events on there and more.

- Anika is interested in becoming a webmaster.

- Anastassia will email Laura to check if she is still interested in being a webmaster.

- Anastassia will talk to Manar about Eventbrite.

- Anastassia will contact Anissa about Fusion.

 

 

Anika

- Anika will need to get a Women in Engineering membership.

- She might be our next Webmaster. Her job as a webmaster will be to update the list of executive team members list, update our events on the website, etc.

 

Sana

- Ask Travis if we have the extra banners for Women in Engineering.

- Sana will ask Ajit if we could get a table on the AGM (November 15) just for WIE without alcohol.

- Sana has already sent out the form for WIE items on the IEEE website.

- Sana will be in charge of an outdoor event this summer - she will be posting it on IEEE newsletter.

- Give Fadwa a tour of a secretary position duties

 

Mohamed

- Will be the communication lead. He will create Mailchimp, and add all the people who attended our events to this mailing list.

- Mohamed will be taking the attendance for every event.

 

Fadwa:

- Meet with Sana to see how to update the vTools for our next events, and to know about our end of year report.

- She will be in charge of an elementary school event. We will be doing different engineering activities for the children.

- Fadwa will be in charge of Room booking.

 

Hermant

- To apply for funding for elementary school event and other events (potentially contacting the faculty of engineering and design at Carleton)

- Hermant will be in charge of volunteers on the data day, life science day, and etc.

 

Manar

- She will be helping out with Eventbrite. (Outreach lead)

 

Olivia

- Olivia will our social media lead. She will be in charge of creating an Instagram account, she will be posting pictures of our events on there, and she will be putting the captions.

- She will also be in charge of Twitter and Facebook as well.

- She will be getting her IEEE membership.

- Look up our branding from IEEE headquarter.

 

Hazem

- Hazem will be in charge of printing the banner

- Hazem will provide transportation from Carleton to Algonquin.

- Will be in charge of getting speakers gifts.

 

Other Discussions:

- IEEE Fusion conference on July 2^nd,3, 4^th,5^th. They need volunteers.

Volunteers: Sana, Mohamed, Fadwa, Olivia, Anika

All volunteers will send the time slot to Anissa.

- GPS placement company will be giving a talk that will be happening end of June.

- We will be inviting the CEO of a Biomedical company.

- Sana will be organizing one outdoor event.

- Fadwa will organize a school event.
