Please join us as we invite Dr. Deepak Ramasubramanian to give a talk on modeling of DERs for bulk power system studies.

The presentation will provide an insight into the state of the art representation of distributed energy resources for the purpose of transmission planning studies along with a highlight on the recently developed DER_A positive sequence model. Along with the model, a method of parameterizing its variables would be discussed and to showcase the importance of accurate parameterization, results from a case study showing the impact of DER on the large bulk power system will be discussed.

Dr. Deepak Ramasubramanian is an Engineer/Scientist III at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in the Grid Operations and Planning Group. Deepak joined EPRI in 2017 where his work is in the area of modeling, control and stability analysis of the bulk power system with recent focus on the associated impacts of large scale integration of converter interfaced generation.

The meeting is open to non-society members. Students are welcome. Please join us!
