Fundamentals of Power Quality Related to Harmonics and Power Factor

This is a technical presentation covering the topics of power factor and harmonics.  The presenter will be discussing concepts for optimal electrical power system design for both low and medium voltage networks.  Topics that will be covered include: capacitor bank systems, passive and active harmonic filtering techniques, resonance, IEEE519, IEEE1531, and island mode networks.

Biography:

Rouzbeh Rezvani joined Power Survey in September 2014 after working for more than 12 years as lead engineer/engineering manager in power quality solution projects. He was hired in order to technically support the project handling team and take the responsibility of R&D projects with NRC “ National Research Council Canada”. He is holding the position of product and application development director for the
power quality solution product in the merger company “POWERSIDE”. He has Bachelor and master’s in electrical engineering and a professional member of PEO “Professional Engineers Ontario”.
