WIE will be manning several tables at the annual Girl Scout STEM Expo. We'll be teaching the Girl Scouts about science and engineering with two different types of activities: in the morning (10am - 12pm), we'll talk about computer encryption and have a cryptex box for them to solve; and in the afternoon (12 - 3pm, 3 - 6pm), we'll have a series of science-based activities for them to participate in, including a selfie stand (ultraviolet, visible, and infrared light cameras), eating liquid nitrogen dipped cookies (safely of course!), and a vacuum chamber (to learn about air).
