Coming together is a beginning; Keeping together is progress;Working together is a success

While the world benefits from what’s new, IEEE focuses on what’s next. IEEE student branch of the Jaypee University of Information Technology gathered to share their technical ideas on the occasion of international IEEE day on 30th September 2019. The IEEE members joined together to collaborate on ideas that leverage technology for a better tomorrow. In addition to an enjoyable time, the celebration consisted of various events such as a webinar, quiz, project presentation, etc.

TECHNICAL QUIZ

I don’t pretend we have all the answers. But the questions are certainly worth thinking about.

The IEEE community organized a technical quiz which was open to all. The students participated with great enthusiasm and gave a tough competition to each other. They were encouraged with various prizes. The quiz contained questions based on history of computers, the advancement of technology, programming, etc. Overall the session proved to be an informative one.

WEBINAR

By Ms. Anubha Maneshwar

The WIE-IEEE (women in engineering) student branch conducted a webinar which was organized by Ms. Anubha Bhaik (chairperson- WIE) and Shachi Sharma (vice-chairperson- WIE). Ms. Anubha Maneshwar is the founder of the ‘Girls Script Foundation India’. Currently, her organization is working in 52 cities of India. She is also the winner of 35 Under 35 Awards in Best Startup for Education Category. She interacted with the girls, sharing her own experience of starting a company. She informed the students about the various methods that are available to earn a fruitful internship and also taught the students skills as basic as writing an effective resume. After the webinar, the students felt motivated and were happy to get their queries answered as well as get some guidance from an experienced and renowned personality like her’s. Everyone was pleased and happy to interact with her.

PROJECT PRESENTATION

The most interesting of all the sessions was the project presentation. There were various projects amongst which two were of software and one was based on hardware. We came across many interesting projects like a hardware-based obstacle sensor which consisted of a radar sensor, sonar, and Arduino uno. The main idea behind the project was that it traced the obstacle in its way and changed its direction accordingly.

There were various startup projects like a software-based project ‘ A stage community ‘ which is an ideal pitch with software connecting students with the corporate world.
