Matthew Nawn of USDOT FTA
Vintage and Heritage Trolley Cars in Transit Use
The presentation will help attendees better appreciate the unique nature, challenges, and opportunities of vintage and heritage trolley cars in actual transit use in the modern age, including vehicle engineering support and technical assistance. There will be discussion of the significant challenges and disruptions faced in Memphis, including lessons learned that have been applied to other agencies.
Biography:
Matthew W. Nawn, P.E., PMP is the Chief, Technical Services Division of FTA's Office of Capital Project Management and Office of Program Management. His responsibilities include program management and vehicle engineering support and technical assistance, particularly for vintage trolleys.
Previously, he was General Engineer for the National Cancer Institute and Resident Engineer for the US Army Corp of Engineers.
Matthew also serves as Chairman, Board of Directors of Railways To Yesterday, operators of the Rockhill Trolley Museum in southcentral Pennsylvania.
