Oakland University Student Machine Vision Demo 2019

The students from ECE 4510 - Machine Vision will hold their Project Demonstration presentations this Thursday, November 21 from 11 AM - 1 PM in the Engineering Center atrium. Dr. Khalid Mirza would like to invite you to stop by to meet the students and learn about their projects. Attached is a flyer for your review and information.

Projects:

Better than Braille - Text to speech application that reads out loud the description in an image and the product is then linked to an Amazon page.
Slip and Fall Detector - A video based slip and fall detector that recognizes body position and alerts when a person has fallen or is on the ground.
Checkers Assistant - Watch over a checkers game board to track the game progress by displaying each player’s remaining chips and the winner.
Riding the Wave - Use image processing to extract data from oscilloscope waveforms for quick frequency and transient analysis.
Aerial Vehicle Tracker - Use a webcam to track the velocity and direction of an RC car as it runs on a small road course.
A Pigment of Your Imagination - Create a color by number game that would superimpose a color by number template onto a live video stream using a “wand” to select a color and place it on the shape.
The Baseball Umpire - Use image processing to track a pitcher's thrown a baseball as it travels to the plate along with the "strike zone”.
Lighthouse Safety System - Use a camera and object tracking to identify boats and display their distance from a lighthouse to the shore with a mock-up LED warning system to alert if a boat is detected too close to shore.
