IEEE Southeastern Michigan - Adminstrative Committee


Welcome to the Southeastern Michigan IEEE Section. 

We request that all of our Geo-units (Affinity Groups and Technical Chapters) and our Standing Committees to have at least one representative at the Section ExCom (Adminstrative) meetings to bring your points of view to the table for discussion.  All our officers will receive an invitation to the meeting by eNotice, and we look to the individual element leadership to ensure full participation.

David David of EDPR, a global leader in the renewable energy sector

Topic:

SEM Organization and Operations planning.

Organization and Planning for 2020 with emphasis on member engagement.  

Biography:

David Mindham graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a Power Engineering focus from Iowa State University and is working towards a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University. 

David moved to Farmington Hills, MI from Central Iowa in 2011.  He is employed with EDPR, a global leader in the renewable energy sector. 

Prior to moving to Michigan, David began his career in Operations and Project Management in the IT department of the City of Ames, IA, where his primary focuses were to implement new technologies, automate existing processes and improve performance of networked resources.

This is the first position that he has held with IEEE SEM Section.  He also serves on the Advisory Board for the Power System Engineering Research Center, has provided technical seminars, and volunteers for organizations encouraging STEM education. 

In his spare time, David enjoys camping and fishing and works to conserve Michigan’s natural resources.  He is also an avid billiards player, and has played in several state, regional, and national tournaments collimating in a 3rd place finish in the State of Iowa tournament.  He is also a sports fan and regularly plays basketball, volleyball, and golf. He travels to as many Iowa State University football games as possible in a custom restored tailgating bus his group of friends rebuilt in their free time.
