You are invited to join us for our first networking event of 2020! This event is an excellent opportunity for people at various stages of their careers to meet, socialize and connect in a relaxed atmosphere out of the office.

This month the IEEE Young Professionals Affinity Group is hosting the event and has welcomed Andrew MacMillian give a guest presentation on his experience as a young professional engineer in the aerospace and defense industries. Andrew is a Systems Architecture Engineer with MDA in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This presentation will appeal to students that are looking towards their future after graduation and young professionals that are at the early stage of their careers. The presentation will also stand out to those interested in the engineering side of spacecraft technology.

All undergraduate and post-graduate students are welcome to attend the networking and the presentation for FREE. A drink ticket and pizza will be provided with registration.

Andrew MacMillan, P.Eng Andrew MacMillan, P.Eng

Andrew MacMillan, P.Eng, is a Systems Architecture Engineer at MDA Corporation in the Dartmouth office location. He will give a presentation showing his exciting career up to this point, his professional development as a young engineer, and upcoming opportunities at MDA.

 

Biography:

Andrew received a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Carleton University in 2013. He went on to complete a Master's of Science Degree in Astronautics and Space Engineering from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom in 2014 with a focus on "Liquid bipropellant Engine Simulation and Injector Design." 

Andrew further pursued his interest in space engineering and spacecraft design by working at the Avanti Communication Group as a Spacecraft Operations Engineer.

In 2016, Andrew moved back to Canada to join MDA as a Systems Architecture Engineer.
