As Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy unfolds, UBC electrical, computer and mechanical engineers will have unprecedented opportunities to pursue careers at local firms such as Vard Marine, Vard Electro, MDA, OSI Maritime, Seaspan Shipyards, and Cellula Robotics and contribute to the development of cutting edge ship design, cybersecurity, software, power systems and communications technology for the shipbuilding and industrial marine sector. Service in the Naval Reserve can play an important in preparing for such careers, especially as plans to transform RCN reserve units into innovation hubs progress.

During this lunch-and-learn presentation, representatives from Vard and HMCS Discovery will brief attendees on Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy and careers in the Naval Reserve, respectively. Pizza and soft drinks will be served. Space is limited so pre-registration is requested.
