While HRG technology is well established and recognized to allow process continuity when there is a ground fault,
controls transient over-voltages avoiding equipment damage and reduces the risk of an arc flash from occurring,
there are operational limitations with standard HRG systems.
NFPA 70E Annex O states: that “design options should facilitate the ability to eliminate hazards or reduce risk by doing
the following:
1) Reduce the likelihood of exposure
2) Reducing the magnitude or severity of exposure
3) Enabling achievement of an electrically safe work condition.
Learn how advances in HRG technology provides compliance to all three clauses.
