Topic:

Automotive Ethernet Time Domain Reflectometry Testing

Abstract:  (TDR) Time Domain Reflectometry is a testing methodology originally used for fault finding in cables. Today it is also used for full characterization of cables, backplanes, and interconnects. This discussion will focus on best practices and applications of making TDR measurements to characterize (S-parameters) cables and connectors, with a focus on twisted pair cables and in Automotive Ethernet test standards, including MDI Return Loss and MDI Mode Conversion Loss.
