Abstract: Big Data is one of the current growth areas in computing.
However it exposes a number of issues that folks doing "Data Engineering" need to consider - from bit rot to legal issues like ownership, privacy, disclosure and liability. Jim will provide some historical context that shines a light on recent, current and future issues facing corporations, software developers, but also managers, lawyers and the public in general.
