All you need to know about Big Data
Big Data become a buzzword and identifies data large in size or complicated in structure or both in most cases. Traditional data processing techniques strugle with it. In most scenarios the volume of data is too big or it moves too fast or it exceeds current processing capacity. Despite these problems, big data has the potential to help companies improve operations and make faster, more intelligent decisions. Everywhere we look, the quantity of data is exponentially growing and it comes from different sources. Many science fields are becoming data driven and data discovery and analysis will be one of the greatest scientific challenges if this century.
Professor Xue Li will explain why is Big Data such a big deal. He is honoured as one of "the most powerful people in Australia" on Big Data by the Financial Review - the Power Issue 2015. He is winner of the Microsoft Start Up Q Award 2014, Winner of the Best use of Open Data – QLD Premier’s Awards for Open Data 2014.
