Javan Erfanian
The Road to 2020 & Beyond (5G)
Javan Erfanian primes the end to end wireless technology direction and strategy at Bell Canada. In this role, he has worked with the global industry and research community towards definition and standardization of new technologies. He has been the co-lead and chief editor of the 5G initiative at the global Next Generation Mobile Network (NGMN) alliance, and has led the NGMN work on 5G Verticals (IoT) requirements, most recently. Javan studied at the universities of Calgary and Toronto, in Canada, with a number of research papers and many citations. He has developed and taught many industry and academic programs, including several courses at the University of Toronto. Javan has been part of the IEEE family in the past 20+ years, and an IEEE Communications Society distinguished lecturer / speaker for many years.
