IEEE Cincinnati September Section Meeting

Leadership in Energy & Environmental Designs (LEED) - Electrical Focused Presentation

As electrical engineers, contractors, and practitioners, the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Designs (LEED) Rating System can have a tremendous impact on what we would otherwise think of as a “typical” construction project. Join us for an overview of the applicable LEED criteria, along with some valuable “lessons learned” in incorporating these criteria within the built environment. Project case studies will help to illustrate the necessary tools, processes, and milestones with respect to involvement in a LEED project.

  1. Attendees will garner a basic understanding of several LEED credits that involve electrical design and construction, for purposes of realizing their impact on day-to-day roles in this field.
  2. Attendees will observe various tools and methods that assist in incorporating the LEED criteria into a typical project.
  3. Attendees will understand the cost impact and potential savings opportunities that exist by incorporating such criteria into a project.
  4. Attendees will review project case studies focused on the electrical-based LEED credits.
