IEEE Brew with the Crew - “Dissecting Flood-Impacted Electric Vehicles: A Comprehensive Analysis"
Brew with the Crew Informal Seminar Series - Sponsored by Eastern Idaho IEEE, INL, Idaho SHANNON
Abstract: This presentation offers an in-depth analysis of 10 electric vehicles (EVs) affected by floodwaters
during Hurricane Ian, procured from auction sites in Florida. Aligned with the National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration's mission, the study is dedicated to advancing vehicle safety and bolstering hurricane
preparedness. Central objectives include generating insights gleaned from incidents involving saltwater-
flooded EVs, documenting observations derived from teardown analyses, and offering valuable insights for future research endeavors focused on enhancing EV resilience.
