Bakul Gohel: An assistant professor and researcher at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information
and Communication Technology (DA-IICT) since 2018. His current research interest lies in
the field of biomedical image and signals analysis, deep learning architecture and its
applications, bio-medical instrumentation, and brain signal analysis.

An expert lecture was conducted on Deep Learning for Medical Informatics on 21st March 2024
between 2-4 pm. The event reflected on deep learning in medicine and informatics and provided
insights about various DL-related topics. Deep learning, a subfield of artificial intelligence, is gaining
significant application in various industrial sectors, including healthcare. Complementary, data-driven
deep learning-based technologies have excellent potential in the healthcare sector as hospitals
increasingly adopt digitization and storage of medical data. The session talked about the various
deep learning approaches: like ANN and CNN application in analyzing various medical signals and images.
