Ryan Hickey is a 17-year veteran of the wireless industry. Most of his experience was gained while developing core wireless technology for BlackBerry Smartphones. Two years ago Ryan co-founded eleven-x with the vision of building a world class company focused on developing wireless technology for the IoT sector. eleven-x is a profitable company based in the Accelerator Centre employing over a dozen highly talented engineers.
Ryan will be talking about Low Power Wide Area Networking, an explosive area in the Internet of Things. Thanks to eleven-x Waterloo has Canada’s first publicly available installation. LPWANs are purpose built wireless networks designed to deliver sensor data to the cloud and be the conduit that enables Big Data and Analytics. In the presentation, eleven-x provides an introduction to LPWAN technology, its uses, and some details about the eleven-x IoT network.
