The technical chapter PES IEEE UTN and the Electricity and Automation Club of the Universidad Técnica del Norte seek to make visible the importance of PES DAY 2024 and through this the importance of innovation in electric mobility focused on the reality of Ecuador. The event will be held in hybrid form on Monday, April 22, at the FICA auditorium of the Universidad Técnica del Norte and broadcast on social networks and Zoom at 10:00 (UTC -05:00) until 12:15 (UTC -05:00).

Biography:

Automotive Engineer from the ESPE Army Polytechnic School, he completed his Master's studies in Automotive Engineering and a PhD in engineering with a specialty in Electric and Hybrid Vehicles at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Studies (TEC de Monterrey), and is also studying Currently a Master's Degree in Business Administration with a mention in Quality and Productivity.

His professional experience includes:

Professor and teaching assistant in manufacturing topics, advanced materials, vehicle dynamics, design of electric and hybrid vehicles at the TEC of Monterrey. Assistant researcher at CIMA (Research Center for Automotive Mechatronics) in Mexico. Assistant Researcher (R&D) and Design Engineer in powertrain integration in heavy electric vehicles at PEM (Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components) in Germany.

He currently works as a Senior Electric Motor Design Engineer (R&D) at Schaeffler OEM Powertrain Components for Electric Vehicles in Mexico, carrying out activities as Design Leader of an electric generator for series production (Poseidon Project); Analyze and approve the reports of the different simulations/tests that describe the operation of the generator; Component drawing based on GD&T and GPS; Definition of DFMA and ADV&R of the project; Administration, integration, costs, industrialization, production, design, FEA in Mexico, USA, Germany and Hungary; He is also a Professor at the TEC Puebla campus on the subject of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles.

His areas of interest are: Design, Hardware development, Electronics, Electric motors / generators, Test, VEV (Vehicle Evaluation & Verification)

Biography:

Automotive Engineer from the ESPE Army Polytechnic School, he completed his Master's studies in Automotive Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia Barcelonatech.

His professional experience includes:

Project Engineer Technology Transfer Center for Training and Research in Vehicle Emissions Control of the National Polytechnic School. Development of the vehicle homologation project and implementation of vehicle technical inspection centers in Ecuador. Transportation Technician National Transit Agency. Development of technical regulations for the regulation of public transport. Vehicle renewal plan. Qualification and certification of bus body manufacturing companies

He currently works as a teacher and researcher in the Automotive Engineering Course at the Universidad Técnica del Norte, teaching the courses on Hybrid and Electric Vehicles, Regulations and Homologation, Computer-Aided Design and Body Elements. His research work is related to mobility and vehicle emissions.
