The IEEE EMBS Bangalore Chapter in association with the EMBS RIT Student Chapter is organizing a DLP talk on "The Impact of Wearable Devices in Cardiovascular Disease". Dr Om Prakash, Assoc Prof in Digital Health at the Centre for Health Technology, School of Nursing and Midwifery, Faculty of Health, University of Plymouth UK will deliver the key talk.

Biography:

Om Prakash Singh holds a bachelor's degree in science (physics, chemistry, and mathematics), followed by master's degrees in physics and biomedical engineering, and a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, earned in 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2019, respectively. He gained valuable experience as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in medical device engineering at The University of Edinburgh, U.K., and as a Researcher with the Group of Circuits and Systems at Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork, Ireland. With six years of teaching and four years of research experience, Om currently serves as a lecturer in Digital Health at the Centre for Health Technology, School of Nursing and Midwifery, Faculty of Health, University of Plymouth. He is also an author of two books and holds one intellectual property (IP) and two copyrights for his research work. Om has contributed to approximately 27 researched and reviewed manuscripts, focusing on sensor and wearable devices for cardiopulmonary diseases. His research efforts have earned him two gold awards and one merit award.
