Functional UIs and Elm Language
Functional UIs and Elm Language
As user interfaces becomes more and more complex, it is more and more important to design and structure the software architecture behind them. Good software must be easy to write, easy to test and reusable. So it should be “simple”.
Functional programming is a style of programming which encourages use of declarative approaches. Your program itself is a huge function which is a composition of smaller functions and it “describes” how you would like your program to behave.
Elm is a purely functional, statically typed language that compiles to JavaScript. It guarantees zero runtime errors with an amazing compiler that catches errors before you even run your code.
In this session, i’m going to talk about how we can leverage the ideas from functional programming to user interface development and try convince you to at least take a look at the Elm.
