Game Development Workshop
The Game Development Workshop was held on 24th April 2024, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, in ISE Seminar Hall, PJ Block, BMSCE under the regulation of the ExeCom and the eager volunteers of BMSCE IEEE WIE. It was a hybrid workshop, with students attending online as well as in person.
The workshop aimed to help students take the steps in understanding and developing their own game, under the guidance of Shubham Anand, a third year student at MIT Manipal. For a time span of two hours, students at the venue, as well as those who joined online were introduced to the crazy world of game dev, from the history of the first games to the different ways they can look for job opportunities in the gaming sector. They were given a fun task of coming up with a storyline for their own game, with a set of objects specified to be included. This experience taught them to look beyond the barriers of logical thinking and delve into creativity and individuality.
The interactive session helped many of them clear doubts and challenge their thinking. The session ended with Neerja G K delivering the official Vote of Thanks on behalf of BMSCE IEEE WIE, and a token of appreciation was given to the speaker by Syamala Rashmi, Chair and Riya, Vice-Chair of BMSCE IEEE WIE.
