Meeting of the Philadelphia Joint chapter IEEE Power & Energy and Industry Applications Societies

The quality of power in today’s electrical network has recently seen a decline. Due to the type of loads that are introduced to the electrical network today, the power is compromised. Harmonics, poor power factor and voltage stabilization seem to be the main issues today. This presentation will focus primarily on issues experienced in today’s typical electrical network. It will describe the issues seen today and will display some typical solutions to reduce the effect of poor power quality.
