On Thursday, January 12, 2017 the IEEE Consultants' Network of Northern NJ (www.technologyontap.org) will host a panel discussion on getting started as an independent consultant.

 ABOUT THE TOPIC

* How do I get started as a consultant?
* What are the benefits and what are the downsides?
* How can I maximize my chances of professional survival in these trying times?
* Is it the right choice for me?

The panelists, long-term Network members, will describe what motivated them to become consultants and how they accomplished it.  They will address basics such as forming a business and finding clients, as well as offer insights on their approaches to keeping their practices afloat. Audience participation and questions will be welcomed.
