Each year, our Delaware Bay Section sponsors the Science Olympiad Workshop series in January. These workshops expose middle and high school age students to electricity, its basic theory and principles, and some really exciting and very practical hands-on experiments. This is all in preparation for them competing in the Science Olympiad later in March.

The training sessions are headed up by our own Gordon Lipscy and Wayne Lu.

The sessions are on Saturday mornings: Jan 7, 14, 21, 28 from 9:00 to noon in Evans Hall, University of Delaware. Attendance at all sessions is not required.

We expect to have 15-20 students at various ages (middle and high schoolers) each session. With 2 students for each group during experiments, we need to 3-5 helpers each session.

It is very rewarding to see these children learn. Everyone who participates is making a real positive difference in the education of these kids and solidifying the future of our profession.
