IEEE NY Section PACE & Tappan Zee Subsection Joint Meeting with Westchester Chapters of ASME & SME Presents


The Mission of the Sector Partnership is to engage local employers in identifying, developing and implementing programs designed to support a skilled workforce and promote job growth in Westchester and Putnam Counties.

 The Westchester-Putnam Workforce Development Board (WPWDB) Business Sector Partnership was developed by public and private sector leaders to help identify their workforce challenges and provide resources to support area employers in an increasingly demanding, dynamic and competitive market. The WPWDB Business Sector Partnership offers Westchester and Putnam County employers the opportunity to participate as members in 7 key industry sectors, including Business Services, Biotech, Green, Healthcare, Hospitality, Advanced Manufacturing, and Not for Profits.

The Westchester/Putnam Business Sector Partnership provides employee recruitment, training and resources for worker retention and advancement. Partnership services include: job candidate search/screening, customized business training, on-the-job training and business sector customized training. Sector Partner members engage with their colleagues and other Sector industry members to develop best practices, recruit new employees and participate in career events.

Biography:

Walter Recher is the lead contact for the Westchester/Putnam County Business Sector Partnership, a public private sector program funded by theWestchester/Putnam Workforce Development Board. The Business SectorPartnership promotes workforce development through the One Stop job board,event networking opportunities, and provides access to funding for new andincumbent training across 7 industry sectors, including Advanced Manufacturing.Walter is also VP of Marketing for Hospitality Resource Group Inc. of WhitePlains, NY, and he is responsible for marketing strategy, communication, communityand media relations for HRG and Allegis Communications clients andstrategic partners.

Recher earned a degree in Psychology from Oswego State University, and his MBA from Fordham University.
