STEM Outreach Ambassador "Lunch & Learn"
This "Lunch & Learn" will include hands-on instruction and demonstrations to help conference attendees gain familiarity with the practice of teaching K-12 optics and photonics curriculum as well as arm volunteers with the tools to work with elementary teachers and implement light-based science into local classrooms. Guests will include pre-university teachers from residing primary schools in the region.

The IEEE Photonics Society is hosting a hands-on, instructive STEM Outreach Ambassador "Lunch & Learn" at IEEE Summer Topicals (SUM 2017) on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from12:00PM-1:30PM at the San Juan Marriott Resort in Puerto Rico. Light is a fascinating and familiar topic for young children and a goal of the IEEE Photonics Society is to demonstrate how a photonics and optics career can be made part of their future.
The IEEE Photonics Society is supplying each attendee with a FREE educational Laser Classroom Tech Light Lab kit to take home. The kits make it easy and fun to showcase the science of light with hands-on light and laser experiments.
