The IEEE Seattle YP has formed a local partnership with Startup Grind; a global startup community designed to educate, inspire, and connect entrepreneurs. Under this partnership, IEEE members pay a reduced fee for local Startup Grind events. However, the IEEE is further subsidizing the cost to only $5/person for the first 5 registrants with the PROMOCODE below.

The event takes place on Tuesday, June 27th at 6pm with networking, drinks, and food among entrepreneurs in Seattle. At 6:45pm, an insightful business driven Q/A session with the speaker will take place. The discussion will be focused on how the speaker got started in their respective business space with guidance and recommendations for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Heather Redmond

Heather is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Flying Fish Partners, an early stage venture firm based in Seattle.


 


Prior to her current role, Heather was an active angel investor, VP at Indix Corporation, SVP at Summit Power Group, Executive and Senior Vice President at each of Atom Entertainment, Getty Images and PhotoDisc and General Counsel of Getty Images, a publicly traded company. Heather's career has included COO positions, business development, mergers and acquisitions, venture and public company financing, heading product development and acquisition for Atom and multi-billion dollar wind power development and project financing for Summit.


 


Heather serves on the boards of the Greater Seattle Chamber (Chair Elect), the Washington Technology Industry Association (Vice Chair, Chair Governance Committee), Beneficial State Bank and Forterra. She serves on the executive committee of the Global EIR Coaltion, the governing advisory board of the Hawthorn Club, the Connector Board of NCWIT and as a mentor at Techstars. She has served on the boards of several privately held companies and many industry associations and non-profit companies as well as on numerous advisory boards. She is an investor in TechStars, Founders' Co-op, 9Mile Labs, Pioneer Square Labs and Alliance of Angels as well as in several other funds outside of Seattle. Heather is very active in local and national policy.


 


Heather’s law degree is from Stanford and her BA is from Reed.
