Biography:

Dan Levitan has 25 years of collective experience in venture capital and investing, specializing in leading consumer and retail businesses. Eager to help innovative companies realize their full potential, Levitan launched Maveron, in 1998, with Howard Schultz, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Starbucks Coffee Company. In this role, Levitan has led many Maveron successful exits within the last 15 years, including, zulily (NASDAQ: ZU), Potbelly (NASDAQ: PBPB), Trupanion (NYSE: TRUP), Capella Education Company (NASDAQ:CPLA), eBay (NASDAQ: EBAY) and Shutterfly (NASDAQ:SFLY).

Dan currently serves on the Board of Directors for Arivale, Allbirds, Earnest, Pro.com, Trupanion and PlutoVR. Levitan is also a board member for The Rock Center for Entrepreneurship at Harvard Business School where he acts as a judge in the annual New Venture Competition and a trustee for the Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation. He also is chair of Brothers for Life, a charity that helps wounded Israeli combat soldiers.

Recognizing Dan’s leadership, Forbes named him to its Midas List—the magazine’s annual ranking of the top 100 VCs in the world.

Dan graduated from Horace Mann School, and received a BA magna cum laude from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
