This talk covers the Data Quality Waterfront.  It first summarizes the big success stories, where those on the leading-edge got in front of their data quality issues, identified and eliminated root causes of errors, improved by up to two orders of magnitude and reaped rich rewards as a result.  It then summarizes the thinking, approaches, and foundations (both managerial and technical) that made those advances possible.   Finally, this talk looks forward to the big emerging issues, from how to build data quality into the Internet of Things, to how a senior manager should factor data quality into the most important decision of his or her career.

Sponsored by IEEE New Jersey Coast Section Consultants Network chapter; Instrumentation & Measurement–Computer Society Joint Chapter (IM09/C16), and Aerospace & Electronic Systems–Technology & Engineering Management Society Joint Chapter (AES10/TM14).
