Rocketry with Zigbee

How would you like to carry and unspool 40lb of wire to make a safe rocket launch?  What if all that wire could be replaced with a modern mesh network using Zigbee?

Join us to find out how Wayne and the Tripoli rocket club have been updating their launch infrastructure using the latest embedded technology!

Biography:

Wayne Johnson is a software engineer with 38 years of experience for various companies ranging from embedded systems to mainframes. He designs, builds and programs embedded system hardware as a hobby (and hopefully as a cottage industry).

Wayne is currently working with the University of Minnesota Critical Systems lab using this project as a case study.

Wayne flew model rockets when he was a kid, and has been flying high power rockets for 13 years.  He is certified level 2 which entitles him to fly rockets with motors up to class K.
