 als AG and the newly formed student branch (SB) of Nile University of Nige
 ria\, Abuja celebrated the #IEEEday2016 in style with other counterpart ro
 und the globe.\n\nThe celebration commenced on the 4th Oct\, 2016 with a p
 hoto session at the Unity fountain\, Abuja around 12:30pm in the afternoon
 . Young professional (YP) and experts from the industry took out time desp
 ite busy schedule to participate in this photo session.\n\nIn attendance i
 nclude and not limited to the Abuja Chapter Chair Engr. Gani Oladipo SMIEE
 E\, the Vice Chair Nigeria Section Engr. John Funso Adebayo SMIEEE and Eng
 r. Abdullateef Aliyu SMIEEE. This session was full of excitement as attend
 ees were all dressed in the IEEEday2016 T-shirts while the paparazzi urgin
 g attendee to pose in different style.\n\nAt the end of the photo session\
 , the team were reminded on need to invite other professionals to join a c
 ommunity of over 425\,000 technology and engineering professionals united 
 by a common desire to continuously learn\, interact\, collaborate\, and in
 novate by taking advantage of “be a member today Promo” with Promo Cod
 e: IEEEDAY2016.\n\nOn the 5th Oct\, 2016 the team strategized on the big l
 aunch of the new and the first student branch in the federal Capital terri
 tory of Nigeria\, the Nile University of Nigeria and the Virtual conferenc
 e with content from the Power and Energy society (PES) and computer societ
 y (CS). The conference room internet setup\, project and other facility we
 re all put to test at the eve of the big event.\n\nBy 8:30am at the Nile U
 niversity\, Abuja the registration to attend the student branch launch com
 menced. In attendance include the Deputy vice chancellor Dr. Steve Adeshin
 a SMIEEE\, Dean of faculty Engineering Dr. Gokhan Koyunlu and the head of 
 department of electrical engineering Prof. Okechukwu Ugweje SMIEEE. Also i
 n attendance is Vice Chair of Nigeria Section Engr. John Funso Adebayo SMI
 EEE representing the Chair of Nigeria Section Engr. Raphael Onoshakphor SM
 IEEE\, Abuja Chapter Chair Engr. Gani Oladipo SMIEEE and the Young Profess
 ional AG Chair Engr. Abdullateef Aliyu SMIEEE.\n\nThe day started with an 
 opening remark from the Chief host Prof Okechukwu after which Engr. John F
 unso Adebayo delivered a welcoming address. The new formed Student SB was 
 launched with the Chancellor introducing the pioneer student SB Chair and 
 the Women in Engineering Chair\, other Executives will be constituted.\n\n
 The virtual conference commenced upon completion of the student branch lun
 ch with a virtual paper presentation on the content &quot;intellectual property
  in the digital collaboration Era&quot;.\n\nDuring the break \, attendee took o
 ut time to examine various projects executed by the students of the univer
 sity that include the wireless phone charger\, the automatic surge voltage
  regulator and model of an automatic traffic light system and other mind-b
 lowing innovation by the students.\n\nThe meeting recorded up to 60 partic
