DESCRIPTION:We take this proud privilege to announce the formation of Young
  Professionals Affinity Group in IEEE UP Section recently in the month of 
 May\, 2016. As the opening activity of this affinity group under UP Sectio
 n\, this event “TECH-FOCUS” has been hosted as YP Student Transition a
 nd Elevation Partnership Program (STEP) ---- in the form of A One Day Nati
 onal Workshop on “Research Paper Writing and Publication Ethics”.\n\nT
 he Department of Computer Engineering &amp; Applications\, GLA University\, Ma
 thura organized this workshop and was sponsored by IEEE Asia-Pacific (R10)
  Young Professionals STEP\, IEEE U.P. Section Young Professional Affinity 
 Group\, IEEE CS GLAU student branch chapter. The activities in this worksh
 op focussed towards developing research awareness for beginners (graduate 
 students\, research scholars and young academicians/faculty). The talks/in
 teractive sessions have been conducted from eminent dignitaries on topics 
 like Plagiarism\, Research Paper Writing\, Patent filling issues etc. Last
 ly\, the session concluded with YP group activity along with Open Discussi
 on Forum\, focusing on pursuing research as career beyond graduation\, cur
 rent challenges and constraints faced by young professionals.\n\nThe Chief
  Guest\, Prof. (Dr.) S.N. Singh from IIT Kanpur and IEEE R10 CTS Coordinat
 or\, inaugurated the event along with Prof. (Dr.) J. Ramkumar\, (Chairman\
 , IEEE U.P. Section) also from IIT Kanpur\, Mr. Dhanukumar Patansethi from
  IEEE Bangalore Section. The inaugural event was graced with the presence 
 of GLA University’s Pro-Vice Chancellor\, Prof. Anand Mohan Agarwal\, Pr
 of. Anoop Kumar Gupta\, Dean of Research and Development\, Dr. Anirudh Pra
 dhan\, Head of Computer Engineering and Applications Department\, Prof. An
 and Singh Jalal and Prof. Dilip Kumar Sharma who lighted the lamp to initi
 ate the workshop. The welcome speech was given by Prof. Anand Singh Jalal 
 &amp; the theme was introduced by Prof. Dilip Kumar Sharma. Dr. S.N. Singh dur
 ing his inaugural address spoke about the five-point spells for good educa
 tion. He mentioned\nthat academicians should be expert in TRPIP i.e. the T
 eaching\, Research\, Publication\, Institutional and Professional activiti
 es. Pro-Vice Chancellor\, Prof. A.M. Agarwal during his address to YP dele
 gates mentioned that the subject of the workshop is very important a skill
  development. Because\, a better and skilled presentation makes a research
  to claim national and international recognition.\n\nDr. Singh also gave a
  talk on the topic “Effective Writing and Publishing Research Papers”\
 , stating that in order to write a research paper the necessary content\, 
 language and the image content should be correctly analyzed and placed. Al
 so\, the usage of various tables and results for the comparative analysis 
 and study should be used for enhancement of paper. He also added that by u
 sing the precise vocabulary one should appropriately define our research. 
 It is equally important to summarize the results and key findings. Referra
 l sources used should be appropriately cited and duly mentioned at the end
  of the research paper in a chronological order.\n\nProf. J. Ramkumar\, de
 livered an expert talk on &quot;Effective Patent Filing and Related Issues&#39;. He
  mentioned in his talk that patents in different countries are filed in a 
 number of ways. In India\, 20 years of patent term is certain. He stated i
 n his discussions that a research paper can be well used for scientific id
 entification and investigation of technical and social issues. The first w
 riting experience may be scary but if one focuses and organizes his mind t
 hen this process can be made easier.\n\nLater\, Er. Dhanukumar Pattanashet
 ti\, spoke on “IEEE Xplore Digital Library: Delivering Research Better T
 han Ever” said that the in the age of information\, knowledge is expandi
 ng rapidly. Today\, every organization has a need for the digital library.
  In this way\, students learn about new authors and get various informatio
 n from these digital libraries\, but due its no-availability in some insti
 tutions students are being left behind. During the workshop Prof. Sheerish
  Chowdhury delivered a lecture on “English for Research Paper Writing”
 . In his lecture\, he mentioned that only with correct language\, one can 
 express the thoughts and views correctly to communicate a research. He dis
 cussed upon the relevance of language usage in research letters\, articles
 \, proposals and projects.Prof. Aniruddha Pradhan spoke on “Effective Re
 search Proposal Writing and Related Issues”. He emphasized upon need and
  relevance of a research grant proposal in R &amp; D activity. Prof. Dilip Kum
 ar Sharma delivered a lecture on the “IEEE Plagiarism Guidelines”\, th
 at plagiarism is a crime\, which puts up questions on the research of acad
 emicians. He described it as the act when a research of another person is 
 re-published without making any changes in it\, which is an offence.\nLast
 ly\, a YP group activity was also conducted: wherein\, the participants we
 re divided into small teams of 5-8 each. The team consisted of a mixed gro
 up of faculty\, scholars and students. A common team activity was assigned
  to all the groups and was given 10-15 minutes time and asked to pen down 
 the major challenges faced by them in pursuing research or in defining the
 ir research problem? Each team was then asked to present the same verbally
  before host and the host gave them some solutions\, guidelines or suggest
 ions. The activity was concluded an open discussion forum for participants
 . The guests were given mementos by the official of the workshops as a mem
 ory of this YP event at GLA University.\n\nThe Convener of the program was
  Dr. Dilip Kumar Sharma\, co-convener was Mr. Ashish Sharma and YP Conveno
 r\, Mr. Vikrant Bhateja (SRMGPC\, Lucknow). The program was managed by Dee
 pali Pawar and Saurabh Anand wherein 90 YPs from 15 different educational 
 institutions took part in this workshop. On this occasion Anant Ram\, Dr. 
 Manas Mishra\, NitinTyagi\, Shashi Shekhar\, Rakesh Galab\, Deepak Mangal\
