DESCRIPTION:Antenna arrays have long been ideal choice for wide range of ap
 plications such as radar\, remote sensing\, wireless communication and oth
 ers. In these application it is desired to control properties of radiation
  pattern such as directivity or side lobe level or electronically steer th
 e beam. Antenna arrays have also perspective in car-to-car communication o
 r millimeter wave communications. While antenna arrays offer high performa
 nce and flexibility\, their cost is higher (especially for larger phased a
 rrays) and the design process is more complicated compared to single anten
 na.\n\nThe presentation will give an introduction to antenna array theory 
 – array multiplication principle\, active/embedded element pattern\, act
 ive reflection coefficient\, scan blindness etc. A workflow of using elect
 romagnetic field simulation for phased array design including the effects 
 of mutual coupling will be presented. In the last part of the presentation
 \, an example of phased array design for Ku band satellite communication w
 ill be shown in CST STUDIO SUITE®. The design will focus on optimization 
 of the array radiation and elements reflection coefficient for multiple sc
