DESCRIPTION:The Executive Committee Meeting was held at 107\, ACES Building

 i (on call)\n\nWelcome and Announcements:\n\nChairman and Secretary both w
 elcomed all the members present in the meeting.\n\nAgenda Item #1: Ratific
 ation of minutes of the previous meeting.\n\nThe minutes of previous meeti
 ng were read by the Secretary and were adopted unanimously.\n\nAgenda Item
  #2: Announcement of IEEE WCI 2017\n\nSecretary announced that preparation
  for the IEEE WCI 2017 has been started. Tentative date for workshop will 
 be in 1st week of December. He requested all members to come forward for t
 he event and suggest if they have any good plan.\n\nAgenda Item #3: Announ
 cement of upcoming IEEE CIS lecture\n\nSecretary informed that an IEEE CIS
  lecture will be held in Kanpur Institute of Technology\, Kanpur on 23rd F
 eb\, 2017. The lecture will be delivered by Prof. Dr. A. K. Deb\, Dept. of
  EE\, IIT Kharagpur on “Virtual Labs”. He also thanked Dr. Brajesh Var
 shney for providing their resources for conducting the event. Dr. Varshney
  informed that he will provide hospitality and travel facility to the expe
 rts during the event.\n\nAgenda Item #4: Discussion on publicity of IEEE U
 P Section CIS Chapter Awards\n\nSecretary asked suggestions for increasing
  the no. of nominations for the award. Mr. Rahul K. Sevakula suggested pub
 licizing the chapter awards at large scale. It would also help to increase
  the number of CIS memberships. Secretary also suggested to not limit the 
 award circulation only for IEEE CIS members.\n\nAgenda Item #5: Discussion
  on IEEE UP Section CIS Chapter Awards.\n\nDiscussion: It was reported tha
 t no other nomination was received except the following:\n\n1) Distinguish
 ed Researcher in the Area of CIS Award (From Academia):\n\nDr. Nishchal K.
  Verma\, Associate Professor\, Dept. of EE\, IIT Kanpur\n\nDr. Gyanendra K
 . Verma\, Assistant Professor\, Dept. of CSE\, NIT Kurukshetra\n\n2) Disti
 nguished Researcher in the Area of CIS Award (From Industry):\n\nSri Vidhu
  Agarwal\, President\, Synergy Systems and Solutions\n\n3) Young Researche
 r in the Area of CIS (From Student Community):\n\nAbhishek\, PhD Student\,
  Dept. of EE\, IIT BHU\n\nSince two nominations were received from academi
 a for the Distinguished Researcher Award category\, therefore\, to take th
 e decision discussion was held among the executive committee members. Dr. 
 Nishchal K. Verma voluntarily left the meeting for the discussion as he wa
 s also one of the nominees. On the basis of research contribution and deve
 lopment\, Dr. Nishchal K. Verma was decided the awardee for Distinguished 
 Researcher in the Area of CIS Award (From Academia). In rest two categorie
 s only single nominations were received\, therefore it was decided to give
  award to the nominees subject to their CIS membership status.\n\nAction I
