Mr. Tarun Maini (on call)\n\nWelcome and Announcements:\n\nChairman and Secretary bo th welcomed all the members present in the meeting.\n\nAgenda Item #1: Rat ification of minutes of the previous meeting.\n\nThe minutes of previous m eeting were read by the Secretary. Chairman raised few queries which were discussed and afterwards with the consent of all present members minutes w ere approved.\n\nAgenda Item #2: Discussion on increasing the IEEE CIS mem bership\n\nSecretary raised his concern regarding increasing the IEEE CIS memberships. It was mentioned that currently chapter is working in very li mited area which need to be enlarged. Secretary suggested to include more Professors in executive committee. Secretary mentioned that there are many people who wanted to become member but they are not aware how to become m ember. It was suggested to have a contact person who will handle membershi p related queries. Chairman asked present members to come forward as volun teer for the same. Ms. Teena Sharma volunteered herself to serve as contac t person or membership. Secretary detailed the responsibility of contact p erson. He told that contact person should provide all relevant information i.e. URL and fee details to the interested person.\n\nAction Item: Conven er CIS Student Activities was asked to contact the local colleges as per t he discussion and to organise the membership drive.\n\nAgenda Item #3: Ann ouncement of upcoming IEEE CIS lecture\n\nSecretary urged to conduct lectu res as many as possible by CIS chapter. He advised to contact Principle or Director of colleges for the same. Following to this\, Chairman further r equested Secretary to provide contacts of these people to the chapter. Sec retary suggested to conduct these lectures in nearby colleges. Vice Chairm an suggested to pay the travel expense from chapter side.\n\nSecretary cam e with a proposal to conduct a full day event consists of 4-5 Expert lectu res. Chairman suggested full day event can be started with the IEEE CIS in troductory lecture followed by the Expert lecture. During the event a memb ership stall will also be placed where interested people will get the info rmation about membership. Chairman suggested instead of conducting many le ctures we should try to have one lecture at one event. Further he detailed the procedure of organising this event. To conduct the event\, first a pe rson from chapter will contact the interested institute then institute wil l be asked to send the mail to the chapter. Request will be discussed and approved by chapter. Once event is conducted\, it will be advertised on la rge scale to build new contacts. Mr. Tarun Maini also supported this idea. Further Secretary suggested to make one person responsible to hold these events. Convener of student CIS activities\, Dr. Varshney was asked to giv e his plan from increasing the membership. Dr. Varshney informed that he h as good contacts with PG students as well as colleges in Lucknow where he can conduct the membership drive. He also requested chapter to provide som e introductory material related to IEEE CIS society. Secretary suggested h im to visit the IEEE CIS homepage for the same. Chairman further emphasise d on making personal contact with people by visiting colleges directly and suggesting them to conduct IEEE CIS Expert lecture in their institute. Dr .
