DESCRIPTION:Abstract: It is still debatable whether the progress made in th
e field of software-defined infrastructure (SDI) is applicable to the fiel
ds of Internet of things and wireless sensor networks. The progression of
Internet of Things (IoT) and Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are leading in
to the more comprehensive and integrated organization of the Cyber Physica
l Systems (CPS). Both the Cloud and Fog (or Edge-computing) plays importan
t role in extending the capability of wireless sensor networks. This\, in
effect\, enables the virtualization and support intelligence around the va
rious services to back up what the wireless sensor network could offer. Ul
timately the goal of transparent coordination between the virtual and phys
ical organizations could be achieved through the two ways communication be
tween the cloud and the WSN using the IoT (or the Internet) connectivity.
Timing and synchronization among the system components are of vital import
ance in coordinating the controlled actions with the events of a highly co
mplex and distributed system. The field is directly associated with wide r
ange of applications such as transportation\, farming\, horticulture\, hea
lth\, manufacturing\, to name few. The talk will discuss the generic conce
ptual architecture for IoT based WSN system with emphasis on the degree of
freedom offered by softwarization\, edge computing and network functions
virtualization. The talk also discusses examples on conceptual use-cases r
elevant to shared spaces\, precision health and vehicular networks.\n\nAnt
